A Tiny Room began as a small performance concept in the US — intimate sessions filmed in tiny spaces where artists played stripped‑back versions of their songs with no stage, no crowd and no distractions. Jonny came across the idea, liked the honesty of it, and felt it was something that would fit Wigan’s music scene perfectly.
For this year’s Wigan Arts Festival, he brought the concept to life with a single session hosted inside Static Records at The Old Courts. The shop’s vinyl‑lined walls and close‑quarters layout created exactly the kind of atmosphere Tiny Room is built for.

Stanleys continue to cement themselves as one of Wigan's standout indie bands, blending sharp songwriting with a sound that feels both nostalgic and unmistakably their own.
The session featured Stanleys — Tom Concannon, Jake Dorsman, Harry Ivory and Rob Hilton, who delivered a brilliant, tight and confident performance that filled the small space with ease. Even without their usual live setup, the strength of their song writing and musicianship came through clearly, making the session a standout moment of the festival.
The whole thing was made possible thanks to the generosity of Static Records, who opened their doors and fully backed the idea. Their support gave Tiny Room the perfect setting: characterful, close‑up and unmistakably Wigan.
