The Wigan Artisan Market returns to The Cotton Works on the second Sunday of every month, 11am–4pm, continuing its huge success into 2026. Run by Independent Street in collaboration with The Heaton Group, the market has quickly become a favourite community event, transforming the historic building into a lively space filled with creativity, food and music.
Each month, visitors can browse around 80 artisan stalls, showcasing handmade crafts, artwork, homewares, jewellery, candles, baked goods and unique gifts from talented local makers. A dedicated street food arena brings global flavours and local favourites, sitting alongside the existing foodie spots at Feast, making it a great place to grab lunch or try something new.
Live music from local musicians and bands adds to the atmosphere, creating a relaxed backdrop for browsing and shopping. Families can enjoy children’s craft workshops, offering fun, hands‑on activities throughout the day.
Independent Street also loves to add a few surprises — from the much‑loved Giant Bubble Lady to appearances linked to the historic steam roller heritage of Cameron and his team — making each market feel fresh and memorable.
The partnership between Independent Street and The Heaton Group highlights a shared passion for supporting local businesses and bringing people together. With its mix of creativity, food, music and community spirit, the Wigan Artisan Market has firmly established itself as one of the town’s standout regular events.
